My story

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2007 with a degree in Fine Art...don't ask me what I thought I wanted to do with a degree in painting because I still don't know!!  It turned out to be useful though... After taking the long way around (working in an elementary school), I picked up a camera and fell in love with art again.   I began shooting friends and family while working full time and starting my family.  After the birth of my second daughter, I knew I needed a change and wanted to be home with my children so I quit my day job and turned my passion into my career.  I now get to spend my days playing with my girlies, Lydia and Emmersyn, while focusing on my craft and building a family centered business.  It's the stuff dreams are made of right?

My parents passed away when I was in my mid twenties and it totally shaped the way I see my craft.  I know all too well how short life is and how suddenly loved ones are no longer walking alongside us.  That is my 'Why'... I do this so that moments don't go by unnoticed... so that your children and grandchildren can look back and see all the love that your family held in those moments.  Time goes by too fast and kids grow up and life brings changes and photography has a special way of keeping those moments as part of your legacy.

I love that you are still here... so I want to share a little more!  I LOVE working with families and turning "clients" into friends!  It's something I pride myself in.  It is my mission to make each member of the family feel comfortable in front of the camera, whether it be a shy 2 year old, an adventurous 3 year old or a mom who "hates" having her picture taken or a bride that has the jitters... oh and grouchy grandpa (I've met him a few times! Ha!)  My strong background working with kids and families, allows me to make connections with people (especially children) easily while making everyone feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. It is my dream to be your lifetime photographer...when we start working together, I hope to be there for each BIG moment and all the little ones in between.
